The idol group SUPERNOVA’s Kim Sung-jae made an appearance in central Tokyo on the 15th, alongside actor Kentaro Ito, for the unveiling of the new commercial for RX-8, a luxury watch protection film.

Megu Entertainment Co., Ltd. has chosen Ito, Sung-jae, and Girolamo Panzetta as the new faces for the RX-8 campaign. According to the company, “The brand concept aligns with Kentaro Ito’s elegant impression as a young actor and the allure exuded by Kim Sung-jae, resulting in the creation of this commercial.” The Bar version of the commercial (30 seconds) will be rolled out from the 20th via taxi displays and online advertising.

Appearing with Ito, Sung-jae expressed his excitement, saying, “Isn’t Ito-san incredibly cool? I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to film together. It was such a warm and friendly atmosphere, and I felt completely relaxed.” The two shared smiles as they recounted the experience.

During the event, Sung-jae shyly demonstrated his line from the commercial, softly whispering, “Do you know RX-8?” into the microphone, much to the delight of the audience. He also participated in a live demonstration of the product’s durability, where an ice pick was used to test the RX-8 film applied to a luxury watch. Although he nervously watched Ito’s attempt, Sung-jae was eventually encouraged to have a go himself, saying, “Oh no, I’m a bit scared…” before enthusiastically lifting the ice pick and joining in, to much applause.
